Now I recall, that's what it was.  I got the same problem with the 3B wires I ordered
from them, but manners were OK.  You would think they would learn about this, since I
had them do all sorts of research on these and even suggested they re-package the 4
cylinder wires for the car - 5 packs of 4 cylinder wires for the DOHC 4 cyl. into 4
packs of 5 cyl. wires.  Ding! Idea!  As I recall I  even had them calling the
manufacturer, so thought something would have come of that.
 
You mean you had to eat the shipping?  No - don't do that - they won't learn anything.
If it was in their catalogue  for your make and model, then it is their screwup!  I'd
call them back and escalate it - politely of course.  They ate shipping on mine - got an
RMA from them.
 
Also, I found after that excercise, there was nothing wrong with my wires, but one of
the new plugs was defective - that was a PITA for trouble-shooting, since you generally
assume that the new plug is good.  It even tested good with a meter, but when swapped to
another cylinder the problem moved with the plug.  I replaced the plug with one of the
OE Bosch and no problem since then.  I never followed up on that - not worth my time,
but Suks because these plugs are still around $12 each!  Ouch!

I talked to them the other day on the phone as the Spark Plug Wires they list and sell
for the 3B are the wrong ones! Had to send them back and eat the shipping both ways.
When I called, the guy was pretty much as you described. Unhelpful, and obstinate.

least polite. Perhaps the person answering the phone was having an off day - no
excuse, but is this a regular thing?

What ever happened to Rod at thepartsconnection.com - great loss to us audiphile!

Has anyone every actually called AutohausAZ to order from a person?

I just did and WOW... if this had been my first experience with them, I would probably
never use them again. Amazingly unhelpful and obstinate.
Typical old style condescending and rather-not-be-bothered treatment. Very big Fail.
