Hi Ken,

On the 83-84, the flat grille is identical to the Coupe GT. 
Some early cars (1980-82) had that grill circled by a chrome/silver strip
(top and bottom) to match the headlamps surrounds. Look here :

Later cars had it completely flat black, except the badge, and the headlamp
surrounds were chromed only in the cavities.
