There are several things that could be contributing to this.
One that may not be that obvious is the heater wires for the O2 sensor may have been
neglected during the MC-1 install. This mean engine may be going into closed loop
operations using the incorrect sensor reading, since the O2 sensor will not read
correctly until good and hot.
The other likely culprit is the WUR/CPR being out of calibration.
Sounds like there may be a mismatch setup of the WX CIS system and MC-1 system. Not all
bad, but things need to be hooked up and adjusted properly.
You may get some help ( or added confusion) from this link on a similar conversion I did
a few years back: http://www.gtquattro.com/GTCTurbo.html which used a combination of CIS
components.
Most of the grille components are interchangeable and the quattro badge clips on as I
recall.

Came across a good condition quattro 2 months ago and decided to pick
it up. the car is an 83 with an MC-1 swap. after getting it home i
decided that the car needed a good overhaul because it seemed to have
been neglected for the last decade so i tore down the engine(pulled
the manifolds, turbo, head, ect) and replaced all of the gaskets and
checked all of the vac lines ect. the car was also still set up with
the WX injectors so i made up some WX to MC lines and got the correct
MC injectors in. so i got the car back together got it running and
driving but i am having a cold start issue.
when you first start the car it will stutter and pop for the first 5
or so minutes until it gets warm, i have checked the fuel pressure and
leak down and it is fine. i have not actually pulled the cold start
out but you can hear the revs pick up when you first start it and then
it idles back down when its warm so i was assuming it was working. how
would i go about testing it? obviously pull it and see if it is
spraying, should i just start the engine and see or is there anyway i
can trigger it?
also what pressure should the stock wastegate hold? my OEM boost gauge
was reading like 1.7 or 1.8 bar at times(it is not a digidash) but at
idle it also reads like .7 bar so im assuming there is a problem with
the gauge and its not that high.
lastly is the coupe GT grill and grill clips the same as the UR-Q? the
last owner debadged the grill and it just doesnt look right so im
trying to find a new one(also missing all of the clips).
