[urq] Future Audi : is there a TDI planned ?

I had the opportunity to have an A3 S-line as a loaner with the performance
tiptronic gearbox (I forgot what it is called), for about a day and a half.
I loved the performance of the TDi, just not a big fan of automatics, even
though this had paddle shifters and what not.  

What was nice about having this loaner is that I got to do all sorts of
driving, majority of it highway (I live 3 hours from the closest dealer).
Any way, the engine and performance was outstanding, this car had only 300
miles on the odometer, and even though it wasn't really broken in, it
hauled. I was averaging 80 plus, and that fuel gauge NEVER moved on a 200
mile drive back to my town.

Do wish though that there was a bit of diesel clatter when the engine was
idling.  I know many do not like it, but my first car was a Rabbit diesel.

Hi L-A,

The A4 has been available in Europe with all sorts of TDi engine sizes and
quattro since the beggining (B5 chassis).
Audi has been promissing tdi quattro powered cars for Canadian market for
a long time now.  Somehow the usual excuse is that they are waiting for
the new platform with the new engine, that was 3 platforms ago!

I've lost hope and will be building one myself. ;)
