[urq] E-brake cables?

Yes, I learned this back when the cable broke years back ... I decided to
order replacement parts that go in the propshaft tunnel (my car spent its
early days in Minnesota). I did end up replacing the cable with the
1-piece, but I have the parts I'll need when I install the V8Q rears.
The thing is that just because there are separate cables to the brakes
doesn't mean that the e-brake won't lose effectivity should one cable break.
The yoke is balanced by the tension on both cables, if one breaks you won't
be able to get the same amount of tension in the remaining cable.
Perhaps the main advantage of the dual cable setup is that the cable is not
going to rub against the yoke and possibly wear through.

searched around and found a few distributors stating that 08/83 or newer had
a different style of e-brake cable. Can anyone confirm?
Yup. They went from a single cable running over a saddle (lose the cable
and you lose both brakes) to a double cable connected to a yoke (lose a
cable and you only lose one side).
