[urq] Any Experience Kumho Ecsta AST?

Just my $0.02 worth...

Perhaps the more significant difference is the change in tire construction required to
achieve the speed rating. The things that make a tire more capable of the higher (and
relatively silly) speed rating, are the same things (e.g. sidewall stiffness) that make it
a better-built tire, period. Works both ways. You probably don't want Z-rated tires on
your Prius either. Like I said at the top...

The biggest snag is that 225/50/15 is no longer supported by many manufacturers. BFG,
Kumho, Falken, and Sumitomo are the only brands I can think of that still make this size.
Dunlop used to make a good tire for the URQ in the SP8000, and SP9000 if I remember, but
unless you can find NOS I think they are gone.
As far as speed rating, an H rated tire is good to 130 MPH. Are you seriously planning to
do that in an URQ? V rated equal up to 149 mph which should give you plenty of margin.
With only 4 brands available the choices are getting slim.
