What I'm thinking of is the fact that maybe there is a pre-load on that
bushing, a stress that have it fail early. Have you reinstalled the little
sleeve thing that levels the diff ?
I've replaced these bushings on numerous cars here, and none had failed yet.
And this was with inexpensive aftermarket parts from Meyle I thing. 14$
each, same one has the front transmission units so there is 4 on each car.
Usually, rubber bushes are either completely destroyed, or still in very
solid state even if the rubber itself is brittle and the steel parts badly
rusted.
So, if no stress/preload, the it's just probably a bad part that failed
early.

Hi Louis Alain ,
What disturbs me the most is that I've replaced all rubbers 4 years ago .
Even if most of the old ones were in pretty good shape for 20 years old
parts .
Lucky I kept them , I had to re use one to fix this problem .
Makes me wonder , did I just had bad luck with this one and are the other
ones OK .
Or did audi use inferior quality over the years , wouldn't be surprised a
bit if they did .
