Either price is high, the 450$ one is almost what you can buy a 'real' oil cooler setup for, and not have it dangling below the engine, and blocking airflow to the overheated motor mount. IMO, you are better off deleting the aux radiator, and putting in a 19row oil cooler there. I've done that to several urq's and 4kq's alike. Better oil cooling than that karman-ghia oil cooler afterthought they put on the urq, and it's now directly in the airflow thru the grill, and the radiator now doesn't *have* to be some 2B/Dialynx/Griffin monster to keep the car cool.
A better seal to the IC by dedicating custom shrouding of it, will yield better turbo performance too. None of this is 'factory' - but will outlast, outperform and is better engineering than what Audi gave to the car in terms of an oil cooler from the factory.

Pretty pricey - but yes very nice. I bought one of those knock-offs a few
years bak - I think Mike DelTergo put a GB together. It has served me well.
It was jus tpalstic - which ended up being nice because with some heat I was
able to mold it around a custom intercooler I had made. And I didn't feel
bad about cutting it either.
So did you buy one of each of those IC shrouds?

Hi All,
after looking for a oil cooler scoop for my 85, I found 2 that are well
made. one from New Zeland http://www.autopassion.co.nz/site/ur-quattro.html
and the other one from UK.
http://www.amcarsquattro.co.uk/
the one fron New Zeland was quoted at $450 deliver to CT.
and the one from UK was $150 deliver.
the difference of $300? I can't tell you that, one is better than other! but
I can tell you that the AM-Cars has that mold shape for the stock
intercooler for the WX.
Both are made with fiber-glass. the one from NZ has on layer of
kevlar...but it is not necesary.
here are some pictures of both scoop...I borrowed the one from NZ from
Angelo...I was going to make it myself, but it would cost me more than $200
for materials...+ my time.
