In the A2 rally version I assume the large grille was used to allow use
of an enlarged front mounted intercooler. Having only seen real A1 quattros
in person I have no idea how Audi handled the front body brace to allow the
creation of this space in front of the engine and behind the bumper. Does
anyone have any photos that show what Audi did with that front horizontal
reinforcing body member to allow the intercooler to fit both behind the
grill and presumably behind the perforated front bumper? Thanks so much.
