He just bought a new house my brother built in Falls Church, VA, of which my dad (with whom I share the same name) was the Realtor.  My name should at least ring a bell.  I wonder if any of them will respond.

I'm almost embarrased for Audi of America.  I love the cars, we all do.   I was a Brand Specialist from 2001-2003.  Although I don't (yet) own an ur-Q, I bought my coupe quattro in 1993.  7 cars and 18 years later, I haven't owned anything else.  I still own the coupe, and 3 others, (and miss the V8, A4 Avant and the allroad), but I wonder if I'll still be able to drive them 5 years from now as so many vital parts are either becoming or are already obsolete.  I find it amazing how BMW, Ferrari and Mercedes Benz among others support their vintage owners, while Audi wants to use them when it's convenient, piss on them when it's not necessarily profitable. 

I'd imagine the mere suggestion of supporting owners of older cars by ensuring the availability of the vital parts necessary to keep them safely operable might make someone look stupid at an Audi board meeting.

Here's my interpretation of the request that follows below.

 "We'd like to borrow your car.  If we break it we'll fix it with our private stash of parts that we can no longer sell to you because if we do we won't have any for ourselves, because no one makes them any more.  Sorry, no, you're not allowed to participate, we just want your car......and oh by the way, you're welcome to full bragging rights that your car was the one used for the event, but not much else.  Have a nice day."

Having lived the 5-star exerience that -is- being an Audi Brand Specialist, I'd expect a whole lot more.  Being an owner of 3 older Audis, unfortunately I'm not at all surprised.

*Basics*

**·         **Aside from the load/unload from the carrier and moving the
vehicle into display position, the car will not be driven****

**·         **Vehicle will be stored in a secure garage****

**·         **Vehicle will be transported via an enclosed carrier to and
from the owners house ****

**·         **If any damage occurs, we will cover the cost of repairs—but we
don’t expect damage****

**·         **We will cover the transportation costs****

**·         **Unfortunately the owner cannot attend the event, unless he/she
lives in Vegas or Morris then they can drive to the track but cannot drive
the TTRS (we have to reserve the experience for the media)****

**·         **Any images we take of the vehicle will be sent to the owner
via a USB stick****

**·         **Reference – if anyone is hesitant they can speak with the
gentlemen that was kind enough to let us borrow his vehicle for the A7 event
