Wylie,
I got some TRW balljoints from Jim Haleltine back in 2003, and these were
identified as this : (don't ask me why I keep all the old bits I removed
from the car in the new bit's boxes...)
On the printed label :
02-BJ-3906
Audi
857 407 366C
12 87 (manufacturing date maybe, the label do looks to come from the
eighties)
Made in West Germany
On the blue box itself:
TRW International S.A.
P.O. Box 1211
Geneva 13
Switzerland
Also, if your car is an early style 83, then each ball joint can be use on
both sides, either front or rear (diagonally).
As an example, 857 407 366C was RF and LR while 857 407 365C was LF and RR.
Now, this doesn't help you in your quest, but this Russian site shows many
old Numbers for these early Quattro ball joints :
http://www.westpart.com.ua/products/search/?num=857407366C
857 407 366C
Spidan : 46164
Lemforder : 1414401
Bosal : 108040
Quinton Hazell : QSJ1172S
PEX : 1204217
857 407 365C
Spidan : 46163
Bosal : 108200
Quinton Hazell : QSJ1171S
PEX : 1204241
Maybe with all this you can find something somewhere ?
Good Luck !
Louis-Alain
-----Message d'origine-----
I know they're obsolete and my odds are better playing the powerball, but
does anyone have any sitting on the shelf? TRW brand...? I have # 10401,
which i believe is the left side .......looking for the part number for the
passenger/right side pn...
Or an older TRW catalog would do, if such a thing ever existed.
