Thatcher sorry no P/N offhand - but I bought a brand new Meyle one last year
from a local import parts house. I had also bought a cheap aftermarket one
which was NOT worth the money and had issues within months - the Meyle is
made much better.

Beware the cheap stuff.

Subject: [urq] Door handles?

Does anybody have a known good P/N or source for a driver's side door
handle? I ordered the part the AutoHausAZ pulls up as correct, and as I
sort of suspected in the first place, it's the wrong one. Either that, or
my car is a weird one-off.

The key difference seems to be the way the handle is attached to the door at
the end with the handle and lock cylinder. Mine has a square tab with a
single hole that takes a screw that's accessed through a hole in the back
end of the door that has a plug in it. The one they sent me has a tab
that's longer, extends up into the door and has two unthreaded holes in it.
On top of that, even if I was able to secure it somehow (tap some threads
into it?), the plastic bail that the door lock actuator rod connects to
interferes with the travel of the door handle mechanism. And for the
trifecta, the handle seems to be slightly too long for the door. I have to
bow the handle a bit to get the screw on the front end (behind the trim
piece) to go into the door.

As always, thanks for any advice you all have,

Thatcher
