I changed all 4 of my flasher bulbs, and tried both the factory flasher and
an LED-specific flasher, and neither
worked. The Urq instrument cluster signal bulb is wired in a goofy manner
that leverages the external bulbs as
the ground when they are "off" during signalling. I wanted LED flashers
all around, so I re-wired the ground
on my instrument cluster signal bulb to make it work the way I wanted. I
also changed it to an LED, which
looks spectacular.
Alternatives to rewiring are (1) leave regular bulbs at one set of flasher
points (front or rear), or
(2) use those specialty resistors for creating an artificial ground. Note:
I haven't tried either of those options,
so cannot guarantee they work. Eletrically, they have the potential to be
successful, but carry some risk
with the size of the resistor versus what is needed to light up the
instrument cluster bulb.
Regards,
Eric
