[urq] 20V AAN vs 3B and vacuum lines

I can't answer most of your questions, but I know the answer to a few.

Charlie's car was rebuilt by *Sewickley
Audi<http://www.sewickleyaudipa.com/>near Pittsburgh. Yes, you read
that right- a dealer. They had done a similar
resto on a white 83 UrQ, which Charlie saw and liked, so he hired them to do
the same to his car. As usual, he fell into the "while I'm in there" pit.
Jumped in, actually. (Floor is rusty? Might as well swap in a dual exhaust
RR floor. Yikes.)

On converting an AAN to go into a small chassis- BTDT more than 10 years ago
now when George Baxster in PA was building S2 replicas starting with 90-91
Coupe Quattros and merging in 3B drivelines. I also saw a crate RS2 motor
out at Eurospec (the owner wanted 2 arms and a leg and a half) and also
though- "gee, it looks just like an AAN".

As you found out unfortunately the hard way, it's not particularly close.
The small chassis coil on plug motors were the ABY (S2) and ADU (RS2). They
are similar to the 3B in some respects, but very different in too many to
make it worth while to try to convert one to the other, including vacuum
lines, water lines, fuel, and most significantly the accessory drive, which
is via a serpentine belt (like the AAN) on the ABY and ADU.

HTH-

Steve
