I was going to take Mike's advice but the ETKA .pdf I have for the '83 models doesn't show a part # for the switch which i think is #14 on the diagram 9_53_111-00. Diagram diagram 9_53_111-10 shows a part # but that is for the '84 and up cars. Is 111 905 865L the switch for an early 83 vin < 500. After all the '84s had different wiring, or maybe the ETKA I have lost the 2nd page giving part #s? steve

ignition switch is one of the parts i would ONLY buy OEM from the dealer,
(unless you don't mind doing repetitive replacements, possibly roadside from
your spare stash in the trunk)............opinions, everyone has one, that's
mine based on 35+ yrs daily experience working on vw-audi exclusively (not at
the dealer)..............m

Guys-
Any experience with ignition switches - Meyle vs. Uro manufacturers?
Autohaus AZ has the Uro brand part for $4.71
034 has the Meyle for about $28.50
