Thank you for passing this sad news along Jim.  Please pass along the
condolences of his Audi friends on the urq list to the friends and family
you know.  

I am truly saddened to know that I'll never be able to talk to Phil or meet
him face to face.  There is no question that Phil was a supporter and
fountain of knowledge on the Audi ur-quattro ... and a true help to his
colleagues ... he'll definitely be missed around here!

It is with a heavy heart that I have to post this information to the list.

Last Wednesday (December 5) Phil Payne passed away.

There's little I can say other than that I'll remember him as an unique
individual, a very clever guy, a font of knowledge and somebody who never
refused to help me with my quattro or provide useful advice.
