I didn't see any responses, so I'll chime in ... It has been many years
since I did it, so memory may be fuzzy. I did post my BTDT back then, you
may want to check the archives.
As I recall, the cups are held in place with a retaining clip. Find two
sockets, one small enough to be used to press the joint out and the other
large enough for the cup on the other side to be pressed into. I used a
bench vise to do the pressing. I believe that once the cup comes out on the
other side that you will be able to maneuver the spider out of the yoke.
The main things to worry about on reinstallation is not to damage the seal
on the cup, and make sure that the rollers in the bearing don't fall into
the bottom of the cup while putting everything back together. Fuzzy
recollection is that I pressed in the first cup by itself, worked the spider
in and then pressed the remaining cup into place.
Good luck Andrew!

Guys how does one remove the U joint from the driveshaft? I suppose I press
something out of the yoke? But not sure what process to use. Are there
bearings I need to save? Thanks. Andrew Finney
