For your information guys
If a rear diff , rear bearings or inner gear(s)
are tamperted with , it's imperative that the entire
setup is re-shimmed .
Ring gear position , and bearing preload are important and both need to be
accuratly set .
This is done by shimming the bearing cups on both sides .
It requires equippement that can measure position accurate down to 0.01mm .
Once the correct position is achieved the pinion must be reshimmed to
obtain
the correct gear tooth backlash . This is obtained by torqing a
compressable bushing .
Not an easy task .
BTDT on various rear diff's and six speed transmissions .

The torsen diff will only go into the new style 4kq diff housing. Sorry, no
way to retain locking capability.
The good news is that the V8 diff comes with large 110mm flanges so it will
bolt into the Ur-q without issue.
Here is a writeup on MG by Justin, I did it myself and took less than 2
hours to complete the swap (including oven time).

My swap was into a 115hp 4kq so I did not feel any difference when
completed, plan was for some more power but sold the car before I had a
chance to experiment.

engine application. I had a bit of difficulty getting the first tube, and
it wasn't cheap ... it seems more plentiful and cheap now ... but it seems
that there may be more than one variety.
All I know was that I read the specs on the Permatex site ... non-hardening
and tolerant of automotive lubricants, not acidic either. It seems to me
this would be a good alternative ... in fact I did a quick check and
confirmed that it was originally designed for Rolls-Royce aircraft engines:

Hylomar Universal Blue, that is what I would recommend. As noted, it was

... now, I'd love to hear more about how to swap a V8Q rear Torsen into an
ury's rear pumpkin ... and whether or not there's a way I can retain the
locking dogs ...

My understanding of Hylomar (from my RX-7 ownership days) was that is was
developed specifically for use in o-ring sealing applications. Supposedly
Mazda was having a heck of a time getting the large o-rings in-between rotor
housing to seal and someone developed Hylomar for them and it worked like a
charm.....but only in o-ring applications.
