This is also a sore point with Mike Hopton.

This is the main reason that the molds are being made
 at a huge cost to Mike and Martin for the sport quattro kit without
asking for a single penny as a  down payment in advance.

We want to restore confidence in future  "group buy" situations.

Don't go there.
Unless you are buying from a reputable company or can trade money for a
hood in person.
There have been 2 hood deals that went bad.

That GB with Automechanica in Chicago went very bad.  Of course not for
the people that actually got their hoods and not quite as bad for those
that just made the $500 down payment.  Unfortunately for me, I was next
in line to get a hood and made a full payment of $1500 when it all fell
apart.
