[urq] Bumper Plugs?

well ... as John Belushi used to say on SNL ... excuuuuuse me!

It has little to do with "paying attention" ... I don't need bumper plugs
... I hope to never need any ... when I saw the 3D printer, bumper plugs was
something that came to mind as something that could be manufactured there.
As long as we don't have a reference for what sorts of NLA from Audi parts
are currently available from alternate sources this sort of request is going
to continue to come up from time to time.

OK then ... bumper plugs are available. How about the clips that hold the
sun visor in place near the rear view mirror? My car has a set I got from
an '87 CGT from a wrecking yard, but they are different from the original
parts. Any other parts which we might want to explore making on the 3D
printer?

Steve,

Yes, Mike Hopton (mike at quatrto.ca) made molds for the plugs and can make as
many sets as you or anyone else need. Cheap too!
His are so good they iniclude the VW Audi sign and P/N on the back.. ;)

BTW it must be the 5th time I responded to the same question about plugs in
last 2 years since Mike made them available.
Anyone paying attention here?

Cheers

Did anyone ever find a source for these?

I talked to Javad today at the 034 Open House today and asked him if it
would be possible to make these on their 3D printer . he did say that it
would be possible. I did not want to take too much of his time as he was
pretty busy, so we did not talk much about details. He told me that they
would need to do CAD work to make them, they don't have the ability to scan
in a part. We didn't talk about price either. Javad did indicate that
parts coming off the 3D printer may not be as robust (or perhaps as
flexible?) as an original part in some cases.

Assuming that there is not another solution, and given there is sufficient
interest I can meet with Javad again to work on the details .
