This is in essence the same as the jar on the cowl method, and is what I found to work great both times I had to bleed clutch master cylinders.

Steven

This seems to work for one person operation:

Wheel removed and corner raised to provide access to bleed screw on clutch
slave cylinder. Attach a clear tube onto the bleed screw and direct the
tubing upwards within the engine compartment to above the height of the
hydraulic fluid reservoir and hold the tube in place with a tie-wrap. You
could direct the end of the tube into the top of the reservoir in case any
fluid comes out. Open the bleed screw. A small amount of fluid will enter
the clear tube. Push down the clutch pedal by hand - some fluid and air
will come through. The air bubbles will rise and escape. Repeat 3 or 4
times until there are no more air bubbles. In my case, the fluid level
never reached the top of the tube and all air was removed. Close bleed
screw and clean up.

I don't have one. I'll have to postpone this. I've had a firewall brace in
the box for years I have to install. The old fluid there will slightly
contaminate the new brake fluid as they use the same reservoir? Is there a
clutch bleeding procedure out there? I didn't see anything in HUW's garage.
