[urq] Hood support strut

Keith Lloyd sent me photos from his '87. His hood has the "slot" that my
earlier car does not, but the bracket can be mounted in the third hole down
from the front. Seems to fit fine that way with no cutting. At the rear
the bracket is entirely within the hole, at the leading edge it is on both
sides of the hole, and the second bracket sits on the inside surface of the
hood. Seems secure.

Unless you replace the hood with a very late style 4000, coupe, or 4000Q
hood you do not have the provisions for the hood struts on the hood. What I
did was cut the gas strut hood support brackets in half and drilled holes
through the hood on the steel supports and then fished the brackets through
one of the holes in the inner hood support. Worked fine and looks great. I
can send photos if you like. It is very hard to explain but easy to do.
