This probably won't help much but I got a new Mini York a few years ago - ok
now that I think about it was several years ago - just prior to driving the
car from CO to CT for UPG in 2005. Anyway I searched for "mini-York" and
found them online - I paid - back then - $200-$250 IIRC.
Now - that said - isn't a perfect time, if you need a compressor anyway - to
do rotary compressor conversion? I would. Get a compressor from a VW Fox,
have the lines professional modified to fit - have a guy weld up a bracket -
and maybe install a more modern...ohh what's the part in front of the
radiator called?....condensor! Boom nice modern A/C.

I've had the system checked, and it's holding pressure, but the compressor
is making unhealthy noises. I've been researching alternatives, but I'm
running out of time- I need to get the car sorted by mid-June so I can drive
it out to Pikes Peak.
Anyone have one? I can't subject the wife to the Midwest in July with no
A/C, particularly in a grey over black car ;-)
Steve
