Following what Steve Buchholz said about the part number looking too new I had a root through my salvaged relay collection to see what I had with an earlier number on that might help you and I found some. The part number is 443 951 307 which is a bit more in keeping with numbers from that era. I also have a Hella buzzer relay with same pin layout and same part number but suffix’d “A” (Hella part number 004 885-01). These will have come from my old Coupe quattro (non-turbo) or a similar donor car I had at one time. I seem to remember the buzzer sound coming from passenger footwell (RHD car) but I might be wrong. I went to make the buzzer sound in my WR but of course it is much newer (‘87) and has the voice rather than buzzers – so that didn’t work.
The buzzer relay has a 6mm hole in top of it (presumably to let the sound out) and either side of the hole are the numbers 8 so it kind of reads 808. This might help you locate it in your car.
Hope this helps

p.s. no I don’t use ETKA any more because the last disc I had of it had a weird set up that messed up my computer and so haven’t used it since. I have taken to using the latest versions of the old “Russian” site and VAGCAT.

You were right.
That part number is a buzzer.
Now I just have to figure out where it is since it doesn't buzzzzzzzz anymore.
Thanks

Keith,
Thanks,
I find ETKA a bit more user friendly but this is good too.
Do you use ETKA??
I have an install disc but I think you can snag it from the internet too.
Do you have any clue where this relay plugs into the system?
Cheers,
Steve.

Can anyone tell me the part number & location on the fuse box (old Style)
of the seat belt warning relay?
The interior light works when the right door opens but not the left.
I'd like to splice the BR/W wires together to eliminate the buzzer but I
need to find it first.
Thanks
Steve,
