[urq] battery to starter power cable question.

Does anyone know the cable length and gauge of the main +ve power cable from battery to starter motor on a quattro? I want to replace mine. I can roughly measure but wondered if anyone had done this already and has the measurements. Also, is it possible/desireable/worth while to increase the gauge of the cable used? Obviously when costing a car build manufacturers only use what they can get away with whereas I can fit what’s best.
