[urq] quattro plug leads

I’m interested in peoples opinions on plug leads for the standard quattro motor (2144cc 10v WR in my case). What’s best, original spec, magnecor or something else?
My current set of leads are champion 8mm. I have found that they show resistances of between 11kohm – 16kohm. I have an old used set of original leads which have all have resistance values within original spec (between 4kohm and 6kohm) but show signs of wear on outer insulation.
Who has a good reliable, good starting set up? Anyone tried any of the so called “performance” leads? Are they worth the bucks? Are original spec leads best?
What’s the truth?
