Interesting, I'm in the North Bay and had trouble getting the urq started this morning also. It fired OK, then died & flooded. I came back 10 minutes later, it fired, ran rough for a minute, then ran fine. Nice drive into work on the back roads...

Thanks: PA

Subject: [urq] No Start On Rainy Day!

We finally got some significant rain here in SillyCon Valley, so I planned to swap the Beemer for 4 wheels today.  I thought I was ready ... found that the battery had gone flat, so a brand new Bosch went in over the weekend.  After install the engine cranked smartly and started right away.  I didn't take her for a drive, but I figured I was good to go.

The engine cranks at a very good rate but will not fire.  I smell fuel in the tail pipe.  Since I'm by myself I can't check for spark, but under the hood is perfectly dry.

This sort of thing has happened before ... when it dried up the car started fine, and even ran well in the rain after that point; it seems like the first rain after a dry spell is the trigger.  I'm thinking the engine is flooded, but I thought I'd post a quick note for any BTDT on other possible causes.  Leaking windshield dripping on the F/TCU perhaps? ???  I may unplug the Hot Start Pulse Relay as I've always suspected it to cause more problems than it fixes when the engine is cold.  All other thoughts appreciated!

I got to have a bit of fun with the F-150 in the rain, but not nearly as much as I could have in the ury!
