I use to run 225/50/15 on my 8" Ronals.

It's crazy that that once common size now only has 12 tires on Tire rack. AND prices start at $161!

But that'll make you speedo even worse. Maybe a speedo shop ran regear it to run accurately?

But now you've given me something else to worry about when I install the rs2 6 speed: how to drive the stock mechanical speedo/odometer off the more modern sending unit trans...

Guys,

The urq is going to need new tires this year. The current 215-50-15 Kumhos (or any tire in this size) are NLA. The size is also causing my speedo to run 5% too fast which is prematurely aging my urq ;^)
I swapped in the engine and transmission from my '87 5kcstq (top gear is now .73 vs .78), so the correct tire size should be 205-60-15, but that is too narrow for the 8 inch Ronals. I did runs using a gps to confirm the odometer readings. The alternative would be a Fuchs wheel (15x7), but I just love how the 8 inch Ronals look. 215-60-15 is available, but now they would be 5% too tall and some shops might refuse to mount them. I am upgrading the brakes to 300mm front and 269mm rear so that tire size shouldn't be an issue.

TIA,

Tony
