Hi Andrew
You say you have pressure when you open the fuel cap.
Are you sure its pressure and not vacuum?
Also on our 4000Q ABZ track car the fuel system is completely stock and 
runs without issues.
I would not even bother with fuel sump etc stuff...
Are your fuel lines that go under the car and in the engine bay in stock 
location?
Maybe you have them routed somewhere near the exhaust system causing you 
issues?
