Yeah, all those vacuum hoses are WELL worth going round and replacing, if you
haven't done so by the time the engine has done a few years/ 100k, or so. I
did it recently trying to track down a different problem and lots of the rubber
connectors were perished. If you ever take of the intake manifold for any
reason, always replace the tubing to the 'bomb' that sits underneath at the front
while you're there. You may not have the intake manifold off again for a long
time and it'd be horrid to have to remove all that just to replace a 40 pence
bit of rubber...
