Yes there is a dye that can be used for tracing oil leaks. The local shop used 
it a few times on my cars. I also saw a dye for sale at the local Pep boys a 
while back. 

If the leak is from the front you might want to look at the lines going to the 
power steering pump or even the air compressor. The air compressor on my V8 
developed a leak at the shaft and it looked for all the world as if the block 
was leaking somewhere on the side where it was mounted.
