[V6-12v] Very Mysterious Oil Leak **UPDATE**

Thanks for the tip.
I spoke with my mechanic who performed the timing belt and assorted pulleys
replacement a couple of weeks ago. He said that the belts were try and he
didn't notice any leaking from the crank. If it was the crank would it be
obvious once the belt has been removed?
Also, how difficult is it to remove the oil pan? Given that it's at the
bottom of the engine my thinking is that it should just drop out after
removing a few screws, but my years of being an Audi owner make me cautious.
Has anyone performed this procedure before?

Um... apart from the oil pan... maybe the front end crankshaft oil seal?
