I'd agree that it sounds very much like a thermostat problem. However, 
Bentley aren't on crack, there are two temp sensors, one being a 4-pin, from memory. 
I can't remember why I know that but I know it's come up before on my car, 
early on when I first owned it. When I'm at home near a manual, I'll try and 
find it for you and let you know. Probably worth just doing the electrical test 
before you have to buy thermostat, coolant and bugger around with the timing 
belt for hours.
