[V6-12v] Vehicle speed sensor...

Hi,
yesterday my speedometer needle did not left "0". At any speed the
speedometer doesn't show anything. The tacho doesn't chenge too.
The ECU reports Vehicle speed sensor - no signal.

I'd like to check the connection to this sensor, but I can not find it.
Please does anybody know where this sensor is? I expect it should be
somewhere on the  transmission, but where? Oh yes the car is Audi 100 Avant
Quattro 1992 manual gearbox.
