I replaced the ignition coil pack with no change. I replaced the
spark plug wires with good used ones -- no change. Next step was/is
spark plugs. I managed to pull the DTC codes (my connections were
reversed from what I found on the web). 4332 - Ignition Output 1, 2,
or 3. Possible causes: Short to positive (B+) or ground in the
ignition output stage and/or wiring connection between the ECM and
the power output stage, or ECM is faulty. That would make sense,
since I just replaced the ECM due to corrosion from a leak.
The fix: I was about 10 miles into a ride yesterday, when I came
to a "T" stop. As I had become accustomed to flooring it to get
moving slowly, I did so. Much to my surprise, the tires chirped
and I took off like a scalded cat. Huh? I checked the MIL (Check
Engine Light) and low-and-behold, it was off. The problem seemed
to have fixed itself, and hasn't reappeared in 100 miles. The car
seems to have fixed itself.
I'll take it.
