[V6-12v] transmission screech

My new-to-me '94 Audi 100 S Avant with V6, FWD and automatic
is starting to misbehave. When shifting from Park to Drive,
the transmission made a loud screeching noise while moving
the lever through Reverse. The car drove fine afterwards,
all 4 forward gears and reverse, with no odd noises. On a
might-be-related note, on the same trip, the HVAC blower fan
stopped working, as did the sunroof and turn signals.

When I started the car for the second leg of the trip, the
blower, sunroof, and turn signals fixed themselves. And the
transmission didn't screech.

Electrical gremlins?
