Someone on the list has mentioned this before. I don't know if it's true or 
not, but it makes a lot of sense. Judging by the size of those wires I 
wouldn't think you'd need a very large current to heat them up to the point 
where contaminants burn off. But as there's no air flow during the 
burn-off, I would also suspect that over time you still end up with stuff 
cooked onto the sensor. That was definitely the case on mine. But assuming 
the PO didn't change the sensor, that MAF sensor also has 111k miles on it. 
It was black and fuzzy on one side and grey on the lee side. After cleaning 
it was grey with some shine on the input side and shiny on the other. Some 
of that black stuff came off in flakes in the ultrasonic bath.
