 I think I'll have those items replaced anyway.  From what I understand
getting to them is a labour intensive job and I'd rather get them out of the
way while they're accessible than have to pull the whole thing out again to
replace them.

I'm not sure about the 90 quattro model, but on other Audis when doing a 
manual clutch it was easy to do the rear main seal on the engine plus the 
transmission mounts. That is if they looked like they needed replacement.
