[V6-12v] Steering noise

My Brother's CQ had the same problem as you guys are describing.  It turned
out to be that his car was low on power steering fluid.  He topped it off
and the noise hasn't returned since.  That was about 5 years ago.

 I have exactly the same noise. I thought it was where the steering shaft
goes through the firewall into the inside of the car. There is a rubber seal
there. If yours is the same prob as mine it even does it with the engine
off. My next plan is to have someone turn the wheel while I listen.
