I believe if you have a relay setup where one relay handles both low beams and 
one relay that handles both high beams then you will have the autocheck give 
a bulb out warning. The system in this sort of setup sees an imbalance in the 
resistance to the low beam circuit. If you have a relay setup where each low 
beam bulb and high beam bulb is relayed, a four relay system versus a two 
relay system, then the system sees a balanced resistance across the headlight 
circuit and doesn't trigger an autocheck warning. That's my layman's 
understanding of the headlight autocheck issue. Take a look at the relay set 
up on the V8 and see if it has more than one relay for the low beams.
