[V6-12v] AAH or AFC engine?

After 3+ years owning my '95 90 Q I realize that I may be mistaken about
just which engine I have in it. The VIN decoders I have used have given no
insight into my question. Can someone please tell me how to tell whether I
have the AAH or AFC engine? My VIN is WAUCK88C6SA000406 and the 406
production number makes me think I have one of the early units and thus the
AAH engine. I found no labels or markings under the hood. Perhaps if I can
find the engine serial number, somewhere on the block ... ?
 
Just how much difference is there between these 2 engines? I checked the
archives and found some references to changes to the oil system. I want to
change the oil (and replace the oil cooler seal) this weekend and I suspect
that I have the wrong filter.
