Well, how about: it's illegal?
Also: if you have an emissions test, it may not pass.
Also: we all breathe the same air, so how's about keeping the system clean?

If they're bad (not sure why they would be) just replace them. You don't have to go to a dealer,
plenty of aftermarket shops will do it cheaper than a dealer.

If the car is being converted to track-only use, none of the above nagging applies.
