Hi,
Looking at the picture linked to below, it looks very similar to the
thermostat setup on a 2.8 V6 of the older (1992-95 100, 1993-95 90) cars. I
changed the thermostat on my 1994 90S without removing the timing belt. It
is possible but it's a royal pain in the butt. You remove the accessory
belt and the damper for it. Then you take the starboard side timing belt
cover off. You should now be able to remove the aluminum piece holding the
thermostat in place. Gently slide it out under the T-belt and change the
thermostat.
Check the Bentley manual before doing the work though. As I said, I
performed this operation on a 1994 90S. The procedure for your car may be
different.
