[V6-12v] what is this? Fans no go

Hey, I am under my a6qa looking at a ilectrical block or connection under the power stearing fluid res. My fans are not coming on and I checked the fuses. The fans positive power comes from these power conection junctions. I tried to remove one 10mm nut to replace one of my fans and I felt the block possably break inside. That the hell is this? It doesn't even look replacable. There is no power to it though. Is there another fuse or relay which may need to be replaced? PLease help I need this car for next weeks travels,Thanks, BA
