Are your eyes getting too old to be able to focus on the gas gauge? ;-))

I find that when the needle reaches the top of the red (between the 
two little dots) there's about 3 gallons left in the tank (assuming 
that the specified tank capacity of 16.2 gals (if I recall correctly) 
is accurate). When the needle reaches the middle of the red it's 
definitely time to locate a gas station (1-1.5 gals left).
