[V6-12v] Busted door update

It is amazing what a real pro can do 
.

 

I took my car to the body shop early this morning with my door hanging offit
was open by a foot being held with a bungie. The body shop guy wanted to see
if the hinges were damaged.

 

He walked back into his shop and got his “highly specialized  body alignment
tool “ It was a ½ inch deep socket. He placed it in the hinge area so the
door couldn’t close and pushed on the door. Then he grabbed the door and
heaved it straight up so he was almost lifting the car. It was amazing to
wach the crease start to dissapear out of the door. Then he said okay you
are done. I closed the door and it closed PERFECTLY. I still need about a
days body work but he said it is purely cosmetic now. He put a block of wood
on it and pounded it a little and told me cancel my door order. He will not
even need any bondo to fix it , Just a little glazing putty and a respray 


 

 

It is just amazing what a professional in any business can do . This is
definitely one of those cases where you don’t mess with it first. Just take
it to a pro. I’ll keep you guys up to speed . At least my car is now
driveable. !
