Have you pulled the diagnostic codes?

Note that the drawing of the test connectors doesn't match
the picture.  The picture is correct.  Notice the clipped
corners of the connectors -- and make sure you jump the pins
in relation to the clipped corners.

The DTC codes may tell you where the problem lies.
