[V6-12v] Timing belt trouble

Why wouldn't they use your parts?  I'd suggest finding another mechanic!
Mine had not a problem at all using parts I supplied (nor did the Audi
dealer believe it or not!).  The understanding, of course, is there is no
warranty from them on the parts...so I supply them at my own risk.
