[V6-12v] Catalytic Converters

Hi All,

Replaced my original cats with aftermarket ones about 2 years ago. I was
never happy with the sound these produced, making the car sound rattly,
rather than that lovely V6 purr. Finally one of them has started blowing on
a weld joint so it's time to replace them.

My car is an 80 non-Q, '92 model, which means two cats. The original Audi
ones are prohibitively expensive, but you can adapt the 2 cat original
arrangement by getting a downpipe from the later V6 (non Quattro) and using
the single cat setup. This requires a custom Y-piece to be made to adapt the
single cat to the two pipes to go into the centre box (unless you want to
also purchase the single pipe version of this.

I'm prepared to do this, but was wondering whether anyone in the UK had had
positive experiences with any aftermarket cats for the twin-cat V6 engines?

Cheers,
James
