[V6-12v] 2.8 12v burning oil?

My 2.8 v12 (93 90q with 205k km) has developed quite a bit of smoke out the
exhaust when accelerating in first and second gears. No lack of power just
the smoke. Not noticeable at higher speeds. Could this be valve guide
seals? Or perhaps a head gasket? Has anybody experience this?

it would be insane to do that to your or any other car, just sell it and
get a real one. youd be better off finding a crashed q car and putting your
body panels on it.

While I was working on my car at my mechanic's garage, he had a nice S2 in,
and this brought up the fact that my 80 was lovely, but could use a bit of
4WD to really make her handle better. My mechanic, who specializes in
performance cars (rally and old F1 restorations, etc) suggested finding a
'donor' A80Q of the same generation (B4 UK spec. 1991-95) and literally
'transplanting' in the gearbox, driveshaft, diffs, and anything that's
different.
I'm up for the idea, but we couldn't see where the fuel tank might go on my
car, since it has a spare wheel well in the boot that is actually part of
the bottom rear chassis. Without actually seeing an 80Q of that generation
we don't know how the fuel tank and rear diff/ axles attach, etc.
Any ideas, or anyone with an 80Q that has pictures of the underbelly?
